Consensus a Must for Drafting Constitution on Time: President Yadav
NHRN Kathmandu, October 3: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has called for unity among political parties to make sure the new constitution is drafted on time.
Talking to UML leaders who were at Shitwal Niwas Friday to invite him to a tea reception to be organised by the party, President Yadav said political parties need to forge consensus to accelerate the constitution-drafting process.
According to UML leader Parasuram Meghi Gurung, who was present during the meeting, Yadav also expressed hope that the ongoing political deliberations would give an outlet to the current stalemate.
UML general secretary Ishwor Pokharel handed over party charman Jhala Nath Khanal's invitation letter to Yadav for the tea reception to be held at Balkhu Sunday on the occasion of Dashain and Tihar.
Yadav, however, said he was unable to attend the reception as it would not be possible for him to attend the functions organised by the parties.
